SEDI DEFINITIONS
System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders, established by the Canadian securities regulatory authorities. SEDI facilitates the filing and public dissemination of insider reports in electronic format via the Internet and this Web site.
The term "insider" generally includes a director or senior officer of a reporting issuer or a person or a company that has beneficial ownership or control or direction over more than 10% of the voting securities of the issuer.
The National Instrument defines SEDI issuers to mean reporting issuers, other than mutual funds, that file disclosure documents in electronic format through SEDAR - essentially all Canadian public companies
Includes a stock dividend,stock split, consolidation, amalgamation, reorganization, merger or other similar event; this information will be used by insiders to update information about their insider holdings.
